Abstract

Background: A frequent demand among the female and male population is the reduction of facial wrinkles and pores, 

and additionally, the improvement of the facial skin texture preferentially achieved by noninvasive treatments.

Aims: The objective of this study was to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of acoustic wave therapy (AWT) 

and extracorporeal pulse activation therapy (EPAT) technology using mechanical waves in the treatment of facial skin.

Methods: Treatment was performed on the face of 12 patients, with the D-ACTOR 200 (Storz Medical AG) using 

radial acoustic wave technology, EPAT. Within 6 weeks, six acoustic wave treatment sessions have been performed.

 A follow-up visit was performed 6 weeks after the last treatment.

Results: Measurements with the 3D camera system clearly and objectively demonstrate 

a significant diminution in facial wrinkles and pores. Additionally, an improvement in skin texture was recognized.

Conclusions: This study, although performed on a small number of patients, 

tends to show the safety and efficacy of radial AWT in treating facial wrinkles, 

skin texture, and pores and in a noninvasive way.

논문 : 안면 피부 결·모공·주름 개선을 위한 음향 충격파 치료(AWT)

배경: 남성과 여성 모두에게서 얼굴 주름 및 모공 감소, 

피부 결 개선을 비침습적 방법으로 치료를 하려는 수요가 지속적으로 존재합니다.

목적: 본 연구의 목적은 기계적 충격파를 이용한 

AWT(음향 충격파 치료) 및 EPAT(체외 충격파 활성화 치료) 기술이 

얼굴 피부 치료에 있어 효과성과 안전성을 입증하는 것이었습니다.

방법: 총 12명의 얼굴을 대상으로 Storz Medical사의 D-ACTOR 200 장비를 이용해 

방사형 음향 충격파 기술(AWT) 을 적용하여 치료를 진행했습니다. 

6주 동안 총 6회의 치료를 시행하였으며, 마지막 치료 6주 후 추적 관찰을 실시했습니다.

결과: 3D 카메라 시스템을 이용한 측정 결과, 얼굴 주름과 모공 크기가 

명확하고 객관적으로 유의미하게 감소했음이 확인되었습니다. 

추가적으로 피부 결 개선도 관찰되었습니다.

결론: 비록 소수의 환자 대상 연구이지만, 

방사형 AWT가 얼굴 주름, 피부 결, 모공 치료에 있어 

비침습적으로 안전하고 효과적일 가능성을 보여주었습니다.
